Frontman Alex Kapranos said that the group are keen to compile their extra songs because they are "often the best".
"We have been talking about [a B-sides] album," said the singer. "In fact we've thought a lot about doing a compilation record, because what's great about B-sides is there immediacy. Those sorts of songs are often the best ones."
He added: "You run in the studio, fire them down and go, 'Aye, that will do'. We are thinking about calling the album That Will Do."
Franz Ferdinand release third studio album Tonight: Franz Ferdinand on January 26. The lead single 'Ulysses' is out on Monday.
