Aerosmith have reportedly been forced to cancel their first ever concert in Venezuela after Joe Perry developed "unforeseen complications" with his replacement knee.

NME claims that the guitarist has been forced to undergo emergency surgery following his knee operation last year.

In a statement, singer Steven Tyler said: "Playing Venezuela was my idea of a perfect way to start the New Year. But having heard Joe had to revisit the hospital this month, the band are truly disappointed we can't be in Caracas and we hope to see everyone there soon."

The US rockers were due to play at the Solid Fest in Caracas on February 1.
