Indie rock act Placebo have announced plans to release their sixth studio album in June.

Brian Molko's band will return in the summer with their first record since 2006's Meds. It will be the trio's first LP with new drummer Steve Forrest.

The group have signed with European entertainment group PIAS, according to NME.

"We were very lucky to have so many great labels interested in signing us, it means a lot, especially after 12 years of releasing records," said Molko.

"But we now feel we have the right partner for Europe in these ever-changing times to continue this crazy adventure and to scale even dizzier heights with our new record."

Placebo, who formed in 1994, released hits including 'Nancy Boy' and 'Pure Morning' in the '90s.
