The Ting Tings have been forced to ban strobe lighting on stage because drummer Jules Di Martino is suffering from eye problems.

The 34-year-old, who always wears sunglasses when performing, has occasionally suffered from an illness similar to epilepsy after appearing on stage.

"We don’t have strobe lighting any more because Jules has been having fits," singer Katie White told the Daily Star. "That's the reason he wears sunglasses all the time, to prevent dizzy spells.

"It gets worse if he's tired or if the lights are too bright, or with flash photos. We've done hundreds of shows in the last year, which takes its toll after a while."

The Ting Tings were one of the first bands confirmed for the Isle Of Wight Festival earlier today.
