Persson, who released a self-titled record under the alias A Camp in 2001, claimed that it was too lonely working without a band.
"I realised touring the first A Camp that I hate being thought of as a solo artist," she told Teletext. "It's too lonely. I've grown up in a band, and I need people around me."
A Camp's second album Colonia, which is released in February, features new band members Niclas Fresk and Persson's husband Nathan Larson.
"I made Nathan audition," joked the singer. "I'm glad Niclas and Nathan had the time to devote to all aspects of A Camp."
The record also features collaborations with Swedish singer Nikolai Dunger and Sparklehorse's Mark Linkous.
