The radio station has narrowed down its original list of 49 albums to just ten, with the winner being announced on February 3.
Alex Zane will make the announcement on XFM's London station, while Mike McClean will do the honours simultaneously in Manchester.
Nominations include The Ting Tings's We Started Nothing, The Courteeners's St Jude, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip's Angles and Glasvegas's self-titled debut.
The other nominated acts are Foals, Laura Marling, Noah & The Whale, One Night Only, You Me At Six and The Last Shadow Puppets.
Last year's award was won by The Enemy for their first album We'll Live And Die In These Towns.
