A full physical release for the currently untitled disc will follow on April 13, with a US release planned for April 21.
It will be the group's first record since 2007's Hey Venus!. Between the albums, frontman Gruff Rhys has worked on the Mercury-nominated Neon Neon, Dafydd Ieuan and Guto Pryce have performed with Rhys Ifans's band The Peth, and Cian Ciaran has performed with Acid Casuals.
"Musically it's based around riffs and grooves we've been playing around with over the last few years," said the band. "We have enough now for a whole album so even though it's still very melodic we thought we could leave off the acoustic ballads for the time being."
The working tracklisting is:
- 'The Very Best Of Neil Diamond'
- 'White Socks/Flip Flops'
- 'Inaugural Trams'
- 'Sounds Familiar'
- 'Cardiff In The Sun'
- 'Where Do You Wanna Go?'
- 'LLiwiau LLachar'
- 'Mountain'
- 'Moped Eyes'
- 'Inconvenience'
- 'Crazy Naked Girls'
- 'Earth'
- 'Prick'
The record will feature artwork from long-time collaborator Pete Fowler and Japanese artist Tanaami, who designed their Hey Venus! sleeve.
