Tickets went on sale for the event last October, using a deposit system for the first time which allowed fans to pay for entrance to the event in instalments.
Anyone who failed to complete their payments will have £40 of their deposit refunded. A final sale will take place at 9am on Sunday, April 5 from cancelled and returned tickets.
"We're chuffed to bits that we've managed to sell so many tickets so far ahead, especially when you look at the weather outside," said organiser Emily Eavis. "Thanks to everyone for keeping the faith; it's certainly shaping up to be another vintage year for Glastonbury Festival, with a brilliant line up to be unveiled in June."
Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Blur are expected to headline this year's event, which takes place at Worthy Farm on June 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28.
