Comedian Mark Watson has been confirmed as the host of the 2009 NME Awards at the Brixton Academy.
Watson, who has his own Radio 4 show Mark Watson Makes The World Substantially Better, will helm proceedings on February 25.
Previous NME Awards hosts include Russell Brand, Spaced stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and Gavin & Stacey duo James Corden and Matthew Horne.
"It's an honour to be hosting the NME awards," said Watson. "I can't wait to take charge of one of music's only non-s**t awards ceremonies. I look forward to saluting some of rock's most exciting, most innovative and drunkest people."
Acts confirmed to play the ceremony include Franz Ferdinand, Glasvegas, Friendly Fires and NME Godlike Genius winners The Cure.
The nominations for this year's awards were revealed in January.
