The group, made up of twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, have become the first Australian act to break the Billboard Top 20 since Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' in 2002.
The song shifted 750,000 units and entered the chart at number 17.
"Feeling the energy of 'Untouched' doing so well in America is a great feeling,'' Lisa Origliasso told The Australian.
"It's a different style of music to break through on the American charts, and people are excited. Especially us!''
Warner record label chief Ed St John added that their success Stateside was rare for an Australian act.
"Very few Australian acts make a dent on the US or UK charts - far too few in my opinion,'' he told the newspaper.
"Hundreds of Aussies have waged an assault on the American music business and only a tiny handful have succeeded, ever.
"With this hit single The Veronicas are poised to join the ranks of a very small and very exclusive club.''
