Groove Armada launch sharing scheme
Published Friday, Feb 6 2009, 04:44 GMT | By Sarah Rollo

The dance duo's new EP is being given away on PAP4 via the method, which enables fans to listen to music for free by sharing it with others.
Andy Cato told NME that he hopes the system will be picked up by other bands.
"Our original idea was to make the music free, but one of the issues that Tom [Findlay] and I have about free music is that there's so much of it that it becomes disposable," he said.
"As music lovers, we don't like that. So we were trying to find a way of making free music, loved music - and we came up with this system.
"It is working well so far. I'd like to think it will be one of the ways people deal with it [music on the internet] in the future actually."
Registered fans are given the first track and then must notch up referrals to gain free access to other songs.
