Amanda Silverman told E! News that the popstar's involvement in a "traffic mishap" was the reason for her withdrawal.
Rihanna's boyfriend Chris Brown also pulled out of the awards show after being arrested in connection with a domestic violence felony with an unknown woman. He was released on $50,000 bail and will make a court appearance on March 5.
Citing unnamed sources, E! claimed that Rihanna was the alleged victim in the fracas.
Brown was forced to axe his rendition of 'Forever' at the Grammys ceremony, while Rihanna was to perform a medley of her hits 'Disturbia' and 'Live Your Life'.
