The two acts have been sharing the same rehearsal facility in Los Angeles as they prepare for their upcoming separate tours.
Writing on Spears's official blog, Nails frontman Trent Reznor said: "I can hear the thumping low end of Britney Spears. It's been a treat having them here the whole time we've been here."
Spears's manager Adam Leber agreed, saying that the musicians were "getting along famously", adding: "Maybe we should ask Trent Reznor to remix Circus?"
The singer kicks off her world tour, 'The Circus Starring Britney Spears', in New Orleans next month. She is scheduled to hit the UK on June 3 for a mini-residency at London's O2 arena and a one-off date in Manchester.
Nine Inch Nails are slated to play an eight-date tour of Australia from February 17.
