Former Ronette Estelle Bennett has died, aged 67.

The singer was found in her New Jersey home, with the cause of death as yet unknown.

She is survived by her daughter Toyin Hunter and sister Veronica "Ronnie" Spector.

On her website, Spector wrote: "To my beloved sister, Rest in peace, You deserve it. I love You, Ronnie 2/11/09."

Together with Nedra Talley, the trio recorded a number of classic songs as Phil Spector-produced girl-group The Ronettes.

Their biggest hit was 'Be My Baby', which Beach Boy Brian Wilson described as 'the greatest pop record ever made'.

The Ronettes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
