The former East 17 singer claimed that he could 'improve' the quality of the boyband's music when he performs it live.
"We are running through 15 tracks and playing around three covers," he wrote on his blog.
"A few have asked for a Take That cover - well there's definitely room for improvement on those songs, that's for sure."
During the height of their fame in the 1990s, East 17 were bitter rivals of the 'Shine' singers.
Mortimer added that he would consider stripping on stage in tribute to one of his favourite bands.
"I was watching the Red Hot Chili Peppers the other night in bed and saw Flea the bass player on stage... NAKED!!!! (I believe he was only wearing a sock) so I thought...Hmmmm!...Dare I? It is Rock and Roll after all haha," he wrote.
Mortimer recently announced that he was in talks with his former record label to help launch his comeback.
