Lowe: 'Brit award a real surprise'

The keyboard player did not attend the event when the duo won the best British single award for 'West End Girls' in 1986, The Sun reports.
On tonight's prize, Lowe said: "I thought they only gave this kind of award to rock bands.
"It was a real surprise. But it's also our silver jubilee this year. So I reckon we should stage some street parties to mark the occasion."
His bandmate Neil Tennant said that Lowe never used to get excited about awards, and confirmed that he watched the band's victory for 'West End Girls' on the television.
The group will perform a number of songs at tonight's show, and will play a duet with current pop sensation Lady GaGa.
