The 'All Night Long' singer admitted that he hopes to meet the band at tonight's Brit Awards.
"I’d love to work with Coldplay, that could happen. It would be great," he told The Sun.
The singer, who has previously duetted with Enrique Iglesias and Dutch jazz artist Trijntje Oosterhuis, added that he would like the British rock act to contribute to his next record.
"If they could do something on my next album that would be very cool."
Richie releases his new LP Just Go on March 10.
