The industry event was officially founded in 1987 and takes place across a number of venues in Austin, Texas.
It will be held from March 13 to March 22, with organisers having released the full schedule of venues and acts.
New York Dolls, Ladyhawke, Katy Perry, Pendulum, Bowling For Soup and Explosions In The Sky are among the more established artists that will play at SXSW this year.
They will be joined by a number of British performers, including Razorlight, Gomez, The Proclaimers, Glasvegas, Lady Sovereign and Martina Topley-Bird.
SXSW is often seen as a chance for up-and-coming bands to attract industry attention, with smaller acts playing at this year's festival including Pete And The Pirates and Late Of The Pier.
Scottish band Primal Scream were one of the first bands confirmed for the event, which also usually boasts a number of secret performances.
