The Take That singer was welcomed by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin at the Shepherd's Bush Empire gig in aid of War Child.
Both bands had missed out at the Brit Awards earlier that evening, with neither winning a prize despite having five nominations between them.
Martin said: 'It was a s*** night, we lost all the Brits, but it's got much better now."
The band played the Take That song as part of what Martin called "the best encore you've ever seen in your life," which started with their own single 'Viva La Vida'.
For the final tune of the night, the group was joined by Brandon Flowers and Bono to sing the Killers hit 'All These Things That I've Done'.
Last year, Barlow admitted that he thought Martin was "taking the p*ss" when he said that he wanted Coldplay to support Take That on their summer tour.
