The 74-year-old received six encores following the three-hour set at New York's Beacon Theatre, reports Reuters.
Cohen told the crowd that he was 60 when he last performed in the city, adding: "It's been a long time since I stood up on a stage in New York, just a kid with a dream."
The legendary singer thanked the crowd for making his homecoming special with their "warm hospitality".
"It was a memorable evening, and I won't forget it," he said.
It was revealed earlier this week that the 'Hallelujah' singer will release his first album since 2004 at the end of March. Live In London was recorded at his O2 arena concert on July 17, 2008.
