Elbow to open NME Awards 2009

The Brit Award-winning band will perform their single 'Grounds For Divorce' with a large string and brass section and thousands of pounds worth of lighting.
The Manchester band are not nominated for any gongs at the music magazine's annual event.
Comedian Mark Watson will host the ceremony, which takes place on Wednesday evening. Other performers include Franz Ferdinand, Glasvegas and NME Godlike Genius winners The Cure.
The nominations for this year's awards were revealed in January.
