The reunited band will feature frontman Mike Patton, though it is rumoured that guitarist Jim Martin, who left in 1993, will not return, thetripwire reports.
Patton's publicist confirmed that the group will play their first gigs since splitting in 1998, but added that there are no plans to tour the US.
As well as his work with Faith No More, the singer has fronted projects including Mr Bungle, Fantômas and Tomahawk.
Patton, who joined the band in 1989, recently lent his voice to the character of Nathan Spencer in Capcom's next-generation console game Bionic Commando.
