Rowntree told The Independent that he will soon finish training as a barrister and hopes to get a job at an East London legal firm.
He said: "I only went along for a day but then they said I could go in once a week as work experience, just to help out around the office. Now I go in three times a week.
"Hopefully, I can go and work there when I'm finished with the Blur tour."
The drummer lost his bid to be elected to Westminster City Council last year. However, he has since been selected as the Labour candidate for the Cities of London and Westminster seat at the next general election.
