Both surviving Beatles are on the bill for the 'Change Begins Within' gig for the David Lynch Foundation at New York's Radio City Music Hall on April 4.
They will be joined by Donovan, Sheryl Crow, Eddie Vedder, Moby, Paul Horn, Ben Harper, Bettye LaVette, and Jim James.
Starr said: "It gives me great pleasure to be part of this evening. I feel the aims of this charity are wonderful!"
Of transcendental meditation, McCartney said: "In moments of madness, it has helped me find moments of serenity."
It was initially thought that the pair would perform together, but a spokesperson for McCartney told BBC News that a collaboration had not been confirmed.
Earlier this year, McCartney revealed that he would "love" to work with the former Beatles drummer again.
