The update of the 1982 sci-fi classic is currently in production and is scheduled for release in 2011. Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde and Bruce Boxleitner are all signed up to star in the movie.
It will be Daft Punk's first studio release since 2005's Human After All LP. Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter have apparently assembled a new recording studio for the big screen project.
The original Tron movie featured the music of pioneering electronic musician and composer Wendy Carlos.
