Winehouse to headline Island gigs

Amy Winehouse will headline a week of live shows to celebrate Island Records's 50th anniversary.

The 'Back To Black' singer, Keane and Paul Weller are among artists performing at the event at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London. The concerts are the only dates Winehouse has announced so far this year.

The lineup confirmed so far is as follows:

  • May 26 - Sly & Robbie & The Compass Point Allstars

  • May 27 - The Fratellis, Very Special Guest, Bombay Bicycle Club

  • May 28 - Cat Stevens/Yusuf and Friends, Baaba Maal

  • May 29 - Paul Weller, Ernest Ranglin, Spooky Tooth

  • May 30 - Keane, Tom Tom Club, Ladyhawke

  • May 31 - Amy Winehouse, Toots & The Maytals, I Blame Coco
  • The label was founded by Chris Blackwell in Kingston, Jamaica in 1959 with capital of just £1,000. After relocating to Britain in the early '60s, he signed up artists including U2, Bob Marley and more recently Florence & The Machine and Frankmusik.

    An exhibition of art and memorabilia will run from May 22 until June 17 at The Vinyl Factory, London.
