According to the BBC, ticketless fans were met by riot police after storming the event at Bogotá's Simon Bolivar Park on Saturday evening.
An official police report has described the incident as a "disturbance" caused by "embarrassing acts perpetrated by a group of malcontents who wanted to enter without tickets".
Police officers were forced to fire tear gas canisters at the gatecrashers after several rocks were thrown. Local media have claimed that one policeman was left needing reconstructive surgery after being hit in the face.
The official report revealed that a total of 111 people were arrested, with 40 individuals still in custody and likely to be charged for the damage caused.
Iron Maiden, who later played to a legitimate crowd of 25,000 people, have yet to comment.
Colombian authorities are reportedly reconsidering whether to allow future heavy metal concerts to be staged in the region.
