The Eurasian country had previously selected disco number 'We Don't Wanna Put In', believed to be a play on the name of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
Its chorus included the lyrics: "We don't wanna put in, the negative move, it's killin' the groove."
Both nations went to war last summer over the disputed region of South Ossetia and this year's contest is due to take place in the Russian capital of Moscow.
A competition spokesman confirmed the rule that "no lyrics, speeches, gestures of a political or similar nature shall be permitted during the Eurovision song contest".
