YouTube, PRS have 'positive' meeting
Songwriters's collection society PRS have met with YouTube in an attempt to resolve their dispute over royalties for music content on the video-sharing website.

PRS said that the meeting was "positive" while both parties are due to meet again in the next few days, Music Week reports.

A PRS spokesperson said: "We are committed to ensuring our 60,000 songwriter and composer members receive a fair deal, and that UK consumers continue to enjoy music videos on YouTube."

Pop musicians including Billy Bragg and Beth Orton have recently spoken out on the issue, with both highlighting the importance of royalty revenues to artists.
