Reports yesterday claimed that the singer had teamed up with Brown just days after being allegedly assaulted by the star.
However, an insider told People magazine: "Contrary to published reports, Chris Brown and Rihanna did not record a duet after the incident."
The original rumours suggested that the couple worked on the track with producer Polow Da Don. It has now emerged that the trio did produce a demo together in August last year, but it was eventually passed on to the Pussycat Dolls.
"Nothing has been recorded by Chris and Rihanna together since February," the source added.
Rihanna and Brown reportedly rekindled their romance in Miami last month.
