Vig: 'Green Day aim for stars on new LP'

Producer Butch Vig has said that Green Day have shown their ambition on upcoming album 21st Century Breakdown.

Frontman Billie Jean Armstrong had told Rolling Stone that the group hope to play the concept album in its entirety on tour.

He also called the record their "most physical".

Nevermind veteran Vig said: "They were swinging wildly for the stars on this one."

The follow-up to 2004's Grammy Award-winning American Idiot will be preceded by single 'Know Your Enemy'.
