Manchester rock trio Doves have confirmed a headline slot on the John Peel Stage at this year's Glastonbury.
The 'Kingdom Of Rust' band did not reveal what day they would be playing the festival. Echo & The Bunnymen announced themselves as one of the other John Peel Stage headliners earlier this week.
"We're really pleased we're getting that," drummer Andy Williams told BBC 6Music. "I think there might have been possibly the chance of doing one of the other stages in the afternoon but we really love that stage.
"The first time we ever played Glastonbury we played that stage, I think it was called the New Bands Tent. It's just such a great tent to generate a vibe."
Guitarist Jez Williams added: "We resisted temptation to play the Other Stage, which was on offer. We said no: 'Let's get in a tent this time'. That's how we started at Glastonbury. It's a bit more claustrophobic, a bit more sweaty, there's a bit more atmosphere."
Doves release their fourth studio album Kingdom Of Rust on April 6.
