David Byrne has said that he is not in favour of reforming former band Talking Heads, despite the potential financial rewards.

The singer-songwriter told Metro that the band had been offered a fortune to reunite and play a series of comeback shows.

Byrne said: "I'm not keen and it's unlikely to happen. I don't need the money badly enough."

The former new wave star added that it felt "pretty good" to be playing his old songs on tour with collaborator Brian Eno, saying: "Some of those songs are still relevant and that's a nice surprise."
