Rock 'supergroup' releases debut album
A rock supergroup made up of Joe Satriani and Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar has announced the launch of its debut album this summer.

Dubbed Chickenfoot, the group also includes Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and Van Halen bass player Michael Anthony, and will release their self-titled LP on June 8 in the UK.

The band will support the album with a show at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on June 25 and a number of festival appearances.

Satriani said: "People have this idea of what this band is about, or what Sammy Hagar is about as a lyricist and a vocalist. We manage to get each guy to up his game in a non-confrontational way.

"When I play with Chickenfoot, I want to give them more all the time, and I don't hold anything back. I think the rest of the guys feel the same way."

The full tracklisting of Chickenfoot is as follows:

  • 'Avenida Revolution'

  • 'Soap on a Rope'

  • 'Sexy Little Thing'

  • 'Oh Yeah'

  • 'Runnin' Out'

  • 'Get It Up'

  • 'Down the Drain'

  • 'My Kinda Girl'

  • 'Learning to Fall'

  • 'Turnin' Left'

  • 'Future in the Past'
