The 'Made It Back' singer will release the new album through her own label Hurricane Records in the summer.
"For the past year, I've been writing for the record. I've been working with some new names and some old names," she said in a video blog on her website.
"The big news about this album is that I am bringing it out on my own label. It's been a long time coming for me and it just means I've been able to do some really cool things and work with some people I never thought were possible."
Knight has teamed up with a number of writers including former Robbie Williams collaborator Guy Chambers and The Rural, who have previously worked with Beyoncé.
The star, who released her last album Music City Soul in 2007, added that live dates to accompany the LP will be announced at a later date.
