In a press release, the Yorkshire band admitted that they were unaware of the percussionist's injury until after the sessions.
"News reaches us that the mishap prone quartet have just recorded most of the drum parts for the record with Ross Jarman playing through what he thought was a wrist sprain - after an incident involving a skateboard - but has actually proven to be a broken wrist, after scans came back confirming the diagnosis from the local hospital," read the statement.
The Cribs are expected to release their follow-up to 2007's Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever later this year.
The band have been collaborating with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr on the record at Seedy Underbelly Studio in Los Angeles.
