Speaking to the Daily Star, frontman Ricky Wilson revealed that the band are thrilled by the prospect of hitting the road with Green Day this summer.
"I can’t wait. We’re booked up until September then we’ll see what happens," he said.
Wilson added that he hopes the tour will give the group fresh inspiration for their next LP, saying: "We’ve gotta have some new stuff to write about because we’ve done it all.
"When we made the last record we wanted to do it quickly and have loads of fun. Then you finish it and hand it in like homework. That’s when it becomes really boring... Everyone starts scrutinising it and all you want to do is get back to being in a band with your mates."
The Kaiser Chiefs have been confirmed to play this year's Reading and Leeds festivals in August.
