Tony Mortimer has announced details of an "intimate" live solo show on May 28.

The former East 17 star will perform the group's biggest hits as well as showcasing some of his new material at the Monto @ 229 in London.

"My songs were - thank God - some of the most influential and biggest selling songs from the nineties," he said.

"I have a strong desire to perform the songs in an intimate environment and give people the chance to hear them again in a 100% live atmosphere. I have always wanted to play them in an organic way and in some cases, break the songs down to the bare skeleton acoustics.

"It's very easy to hide behind a massive show with a wall of sound full of expensive, though sometimes irrelevant tricks, but that proves nothing."

During his time in East 17, the group enjoyed eleven Top 10 singles, including 'Deep', 'Around The World', 'Thunder' and the Christmas number one 'Stay Another Day'.

Mortimer recently claimed that he could "improve" the quality of Take That songs if he performed them live.

Tickets for the event cost £8 and any profits will be donated to Breast Cancer Research.
