The group were eager to perform at the legendary festival for the first time this summer but changed their minds after seeing the other acts on the bill, according to the Daily Star.
"We do a lot of festivals in Europe but not so many in the UK," Andy Fletcher said.
"Glasto would be fun but the lineup didn't quite work for us. Getting the right bill is important."
Other acts on the bill include the reformed Blur, Bruce Springsteen and Lily Allen.
The group went on to express their bemusement at the revival of Spandau Ballet.
"I don't give a sh*t about Spandau Ballet or any of those nostalgia bands. They just aren't relevant to us," Fletcher added.
"We're bigger now than we were in the '80s because we've evolved and made music that pushes the boundaries."
Depeche Mode release new single 'Wrong' today.
