The Canadian group, whose 2007 album Neon Bible made it to number two, admitted that they had regained their energy after taking a one-year break.
"We feel really creative right now. We're in a really good space as a band," singer Win Butler told Montreal Gazette.
Speaking about the group's mood after taking the hiatus, he added: "Everyone feels really rejuvenated and excited."
The band recently claimed that they were not rushing to record their third record.
