Both parties are currently engaged in a lawsuit after Satriani claimed that the track used elements from his own 2004 instrumental 'If I Could Fly'.
Satriani told Ultimate Guitar: "I'm happy for the group, and in a very weird way, I was happy to hear my melody being celebrated.
"However, I was slightly confused that...the organisation which handles the Grammy Awards would even consider nominating a track which they knew was heavily contested."

Milli Vanilli's 1990 Grammy Award for best new artist was withdrawn after it emerged that none of the band's members actually sang on their records.
