It had been suggested that the work would be a new album, the group's first since 1991.
The Minotaur box set will be released through ArtistsInResidence and be available in deluxe and limited versions.
Included in the deluxe set is early EP Come On Pilgrim and the band's four full-length albums, Surfer Rosa, Doolittle, Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde.
The discs will be presented in 24k layered CD and Blu-ray versions alongside a 54-page book, new artwork and a DVD of the group's 1991 gig at London's Brixton Academy and videos.
The limited edition set includes the above, together with 180g vinyl records of all five releases, an artwork print and 72-page hardback book all packaged in a custom case.
