Calvin Harris has admitted that he is shocked by the success of his new single 'I'm Not Alone'.

The Scottish DJ has spent two weeks at the top of the UK singles chart with his latest offering, but he originally expected to be overshadowed by American artists like Lady GaGa.

"It's a surprise getting to number one," Harris told the Daily Record. "Everything is very American at the moment. It is quite odd to see my name beside Americans with huge marketing campaigns.

"I don't have that kind of backing. It is twice as nice to beat someone who is from the US."

The star also confirmed that he is not a fan of 'Love Sex Magic', the recent collaboration between Ciara and Justin Timberlake which rivalled his track in the charts.

He explained: "The Ciara song is a carbon copy of the opening track on the Justin Timberlake album. It's exactly the same. They have even used the same samples and vocal effects.

"Music is becoming more linear generally. It is wallpaper and background music, though I really like Justin Timberlake's solo stuff. His last album was astonishing."
