Little Boots dismisses La Roux 'rivalry'

The 24-year-old singer, real name Victoria Hesketh, claimed that similar comparisons would not be made with male artists.
"Are we really that similar? Or is it just that we both have vaginas and keyboards?" she told DS.
"I just think that you'd never get two guys who are both guitarists and say, 'Oh you're both really similar because you're both blokes and you play the guitar'. She's got a really interesting and high voice which is very different from mine.
"I think their stuff sounds like a lot of early Madonna in a really cool way. My stuff is not as eighties and it's a lot more varied in the reference points. The comparisons seem quite silly and a bit of a generalisation.
"It's not a competition. Everyone is trying to make good music and that's all that matters."
The 'New In Town' star topped the BBC Sound Of 2009 poll earlier this year, while La Roux came in fifth place.
Meanwhile, fellow electropop star Frankmusik recently blasted La Roux singer Elly Jackson as "rude" for comments she made about other acts in the poll.
