Little Boots explains album inspirations
Little Boots has promised that her debut album Hands will include an eclectic mix of different influences.

The 24-year-old, real name Victoria Hesketh, confirmed that much of the record trailed a darker and more experimental sound than her first single 'New In Town'.

"The album is a real mix of styles and influences," she told DS. "The single is quite different from other songs people have heard like 'Stuck On Repeat' and 'Meddle', which are both a bit darker and weirder.

"There's more pop stuff like 'New In Town' on there, but also some experimental songs. I think it's a good bridging song of what people should expect from it."

The star, who topped the BBC Sound Of 2009 poll earlier in the year, confirmed that 'Symmetry', a collaboration with Phil Oakey from The Human League would also be included on the album.

"I've always been a massive fan of the group so I approached Phil Oakey and he agreed to record a track with me," she added.

"I was so happy with how it turned out and it was such a privilege to be able to work with him."

Little Boots releases Hands on June 8. Her debut single 'New In Town' is out on May 25.
