50 Cent overhauls 'dated' album plans

The star originally finished work on the project in 2007 but has since scrapped many of the planned songs and returned to the studio with producer Dr. Dre.
"It's about 30% of what I had when I felt like I was finished," 50 told MTV News. "The production, Dre made a lot more of the music that's on the actual album now. I rewrote some concepts."
Asked why some songs were axed, he replied: "It gets dated. I've been playing it for myself for so long, I'm no longer as excited as I was when I wrote it for the first time."
Before I Self Destruct will be released later this year.
