Glastonbury 'threatened by swine flu'

Michael Eavis has reportedly called an emergency meeting amid fears that Glastonbury could be affected by swine flu.

The festival organiser is concerned that further outbreaks of the virus in the UK could mount pressure on him to cancel this year's event.

"So many people gathered in one place is a risk, and if the Government wanted to pull public events like they have done in Mexico we'd be one of the first to go," a source told The Sun.

"It would be crazy not to put a plan in place. Right now, though, it is still full steam ahead."

All 137,500 tickets for the Somerset festival have now been sold and organisers insist that they are closely following current guidelines regarding swine flu.

"We are monitoring all developments," an official spokesman said.

"At this stage the festival is going ahead and we are continuing to work flat out to make it a success."

Glastonbury takes place in Pilton, Somerset from June 24 to June 28 and will be see headline performances from Bruce Springsteen, Blur and Neil Young.
