The legendary popstar, who is allegedly undergoing antibiotic treatment for a skin infection and is suffering from back pain, has been advised to gain weight if he hopes to complete the seven-month residency.
"There are concerns Michael is too frail. He has been ordered to eat more but he refuses to and eats like a bird," a source told The Sun.
The 50-year-old disappointed fans at the World Music Awards in 2006 when he only managed to sing two lines of 'We Are The World'.
Concert promoters AEG Live last night claimed that Jackson was "extremely fit" and was busy rehearsing in Los Angeles for the live dates, which start on July 8.
According to reports, Jackson is concerned about returning to the UK because of recent swine flu cases.
