Bob Dylan has said that it would be "exciting" to work with Paul McCartney.
The legendary musician, who recently topped the UK charts with his 33rd studio album Together Through Life, told Rolling Stone that such a collaboration would depend on their meeting up.
Dylan said: "That would be exciting - to do something with Paul. But, you know, your paths have to cross for something like that to make sense."
McCartney's spokesman said: "We heard the offer this morning and we're trying to let Paul know about it.
"I should think he would be very interested in hearing about it. As you can imagine, it would be a pretty major thing if it went ahead."
Dylan first met McCartney's former band The Beatles in August 1964 and allegedly introduced the group to marijuana.
