AllGood Entertainment has ordered AEG, the company behind Jackson's 50-date comeback tour, to put a halt to the shows, claiming that the 'Thriller' star had already agreed to appear with his family in a tour organised by them.
According to Reuters, the terms of the contract signed by Jackson's manager prevented the singer from agreeing to any other concert deal until 2010.
The company's managing partner Patrick Allocco claimed that he would sue in federal court over the issue, after failed attempts to negotiate with the star.
"As of right now we've gotten zero co-operation from anyone, [manager] Frank DeLeo refuses to honour our agreement and that's why we're filing a lawsuit by week's end," he said.
Representatives for Jackson and AEG have yet to comment.
